Apply to Charlotte

As of Summer 2019, the Charlotte campus is piloting a new online application portal through VidCruiter, an automated video recruiting platform accessible through your smartphone, table, laptop, or desktop. The Charlotte Admissions office is waiving the $50 application fee for anyone who applies through VidCruiter between June 7 and August 30, 2019!

If you have previously submitted an application to any campus of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, please contact Charlotte Admissions for instructions to re-open your application. We already have a record created for you, and will guide you through the process of re-applying.

MACC applicants may be invited for a second stage of interviews with counseling faculty, and should check the published interview dates to ensure continuing in the admissions process. MACC applicants will not receive an admissions decision until they have completed this second stage.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Once all materials have been received, admissions decisions are sent through email and USPS mail within two weeks.

Note on VidCruiter Application Portal

Please note that, at the end of each section of the application, you will receive a confirmation email from [email protected]. You may receive further communications from that email address in order to complete additional sections of your application, so monitor your account for any information. Please check your inbox, or your junk/spam folder in case it ends up there.

 

Required Materials

  • Completed application, includes:
    • application form
    • videos
    • essay upload
    • recommendations, from: Pastor or Church Official; Friend or Associate; Former Professor or Professional Colleague (references should be individuals whom you have known for at least one year, and who are not related to you.)
  • Official transcripts sent directly from all colleges and institutions of higher education attended.
    • Please note: The seminary requires a bachelor’s degree from an institution accredited by a recognized accrediting agency.  All programs require a minimum 2.5 .gpa with the exception of the M.A. (Christian Counseling), which requires a minimum 3.0 .gpa.
    • Official transcripts must be sent directly to Gordon-Conwell, or hand-delivered in a sealed envelope. Copies and opened transcripts are not considered official.
    • Transcripts may be sent by any means your college(s) uses for transmitting official transcripts; official electronic transcripts are accepted.
      • Gordon-Conwell is a partner school of SCRIP-SAFE. If your college uses this service for transmitting electronic transcripts, search for and have the transcripts sent to “Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Charlotte Campus Graduate Admission”.
    • We do need transcripts from all colleges/universities attended, even if the classes were transferred to another school and are reflected on their transcripts.
  • Waived for Summer 2019 applicants: Non-refundable application fee of $50 (U.S.).
  • International Students Online: TOEFL score. Gordon-Conwell requires a TOEFL score of 90 or better (IBT).
